The Psyche Collection
The Greek word Psyche translates to “butterfly.” I was a sophomore in high school when I read Till We Have Faces by C.S Lewis, an allegory of Christ and his bride through the Greek mythological story of Cupid and Psyche. I received a call from Charlotte Seen stating the next show's theme was butterflies. I automatically reflected back to the novel. From this, I was inspired by Japanese origami butterflies and created a seven-piece fashion collection, The Psyche Collection. Constructed from hand-selected, white magazine papers such as The Loop, QC Exclusive, Charlotte Living, and South Park Magazine. Stacking up to Vogue and Pret-a-Porter, just to name a few.
Butterfly Tale
This dress is inspired by colour and has multiple varieties of paper from Vogue Magazine, The Loop Mag, Pret a Porter, South Park Magazine, and the Charlotte Magazine. Her butterfly top is jeweled with chiffon flowers and butterflies each placed strategically throughout. This took around 2 months to complete and has over 120 handcrafted butterflies.
Deconstructed Monarch
This design was influenced by the loss of a friend's father. Monarch's remind people of the love and loss one goes through when remembering their beloved. Butterflies can be any color, but it’s the things they effect.

Simple Love
Simple Love, not everything in life needs to be complicated. This deep V neck, halter white jumpsuit is the perfect example of simple yet elegant. The tail of the dress is made of tulle and hand sewn in place. It is detailed with flowers, peals, and butterflies
Emerging Chrysalis
During my sketches, I had an idea of the back of a blouse emerging with butterflies illustrating a butterfly hatching from its cocoon.

This design is made out of coned paper with a themed poem for the collection. Each poem is hand placed strategically to geometrically shape the skirt.

The light fades away from the

White and yellow streaks glow
The shadows from hidden objects

Psyche Wedding Gown
. The most recognized piece is the Psyche Butterfly Gown. The “wedding dress” is constructed from hand-selected, white magazine papers such as: The Loop, QC Exclusive, Charlotte Living, and South Park Magazine. Stacking up to Vogue and Pret-a-Porter, just to name a few. I wanted to create an ethereal wedding-inspired design made out of sustainable material. The skirt is fabricated from over three-hundred hand made and placed origami butterflies varying in shape, quality of paper, and size. The complimentary top is created with two large butterflies adhered to a white tube top with baby breath accents. The Psyche Gown has been shown twice in Charlotte fashion week, graced an article in The Loop Magazine, and featured in Voyage Raleigh and Fashion Republic Magazine in LA. The Psyche Collection, as stated previously, debuted in June of 2021 and marked my beginning of AG Designs leading up to Adaline and Company. From one influential book impacting my life, the Psyche Gown and collection arose and produced the foundation of my fashion career.
